ED 70-300mm f4.0-5.6 lens

Problem solved! I was reading the settings wrong.

Hi, i also have that lens and find i have same problem getting the hood of without the lens moving as well.

Does sound strange. One thing I can think to check is how does the lens behave when set to manual focus. Also, have you checked that the MF/AF switch is properly set on the body? If it is any consolation, changing lens hoods on Nikkor lenses is not an uplifting experience, either!
